Sports have made 6 key signings for the start of the 2008/09 season:
Danny Martin - A brilliant signing for Sports. Played over 30 first team games for Mansfield Town last season. Can play anywhere in the back 4 or Midfield. Possesses a great left foot
Liam Walshe - Midfield. Experienced at a higher level with Burton Albion, Belper Town & Gresley Rovers. Should form a key partnership with Danny.
Sam Carter - Defender. Played at a higher level with Belper Town and Shepshed. Will bring more solidity at the back and lacks to get forward too.
Joe Carter -Defender. Twin to Sam. Played for Belper, Shepshed & Stocksbridge Steels. Equally at home at Centre Half and full back
John Jenkinson - Forward. Former clubs include Gresley & Stapenhill. Can play along the frontline and wide. Will score goals.
Karl Ashton - Forward. Former Derby trainee. From his pre season displays he will soon attract attention from bigger clubs. Expect him to score regularly.

A 1pm kick off gave the under 11's the chance to display their talent in front of the crowd at Station Road on Bank Holiday Monday.

Thank you very much to the 100 plus invited guests and sponsors who were able to make the 12 July such a successful evening up at Mickleover Sports.Peter Gadsby was first class and answered a wide variety of questions in a very candid and humourous way.
Judging by the number of people still enjoying themselves drinking on the patio at closing time - a good night was had by all!!
